Now let’s pick up where we left off last week. Gosh. The feedback from that one was amazing. Of course you are so good at commenting and keeping me motivated to do great work by your engagement and response each and every week, which I appreciate very much.

It’s just no fun when only one person on the team takes it seriously – takes two, glad it’s me and You.

As you’ll remember, you enjoying what you do is the key to everything. There is however another part of this ‘game’ called Dentistry. Don’t take offense, it’s a phrase like ‘the game called life’ – you get it. Of course, what you do is way more important than any type of ‘game’, we know that.

Still, thinking of it like a game is actually very important. Here’s why…

Because no one plays games to lose. No one. It’s our human nature, our survival instinct that makes us competitive. You want to win, you want to finish first – not second, not behind someone else and not behind what you were capable of.

This is what drives us and motivates you to being the best at helping all of your patients (the highest priority and only way to win).

But, it’s not enough to go through the motions…seriously.

How great do you feel at the end of the day when you placed a dozen composites versus, well, pretty much anything else. How motivated do you feel when you leave the day having WON, with your patients, with your dentistry, with your team, with your money!

Of course, it feels great and you are excited (maybe not anxious but certainly looking forward) to come back in tomorrow and do it all over again.

Anyone who is in the game wants to win and wants to play another round.

You think the NFL Teams sitting on their couches watching the Playoffs right now are thinking… “man I’m so happy we have a break right now and I can sit here and just watch.” I don’t think so.

This is what I mean by being IN IT TO WIN IT. Daily. Patient by Patient.

Not just you but your team. Not just your team but your patients.

All parts of the Triad of your Practice, ALL PARTS: You, Team, Patients have to win every day for it to be a real victory.

How does that happen…

– Expectation

– Preparation

– Execution

– Assessment

– Follow-through

You have to have goals set, not just for the month, but for the day, not just for the day but for each hour and for each Patient, for each human being who is walking through your Practice sitting in a chair, or heck, even waiting in the reception area who isn’t coming in for a visit today.

What are your goals for these people?

I hope they are…

– Comfortable Experience

– Warm and Friendly Greeting

– Engagement

– Discovery and Education

– Vision of Optimal Health

– And some specific and direct productive action towards the future…their next visit, their next step forward, their next phase of dentistry, their culmination to an amazing healthy, functioning, complete and beautiful smile.

– To turn one patient into many more patients

If you are in it to win it here’s what has to happen…

– Focused start to the Day

– Everyone dialed in with a plan and a goal, individually

– Unrushed attentive engagement with each patient, to a greater degree anyone who is lacking or void an active treatment plan

– Culmination, consultation, completion of each Patient visit with a tangible result

– Tracking and having checks and balances when the day is done…not the month or the week, but the day

Days build months. Individual Patients build days. Team members cultivate patients. Doctors cultivate team members.

There you have it. That’s a winning formula for success.

Good news, I’m going to take you through the most sophisticated methods of engaging, growing, nurturing, winning with Patients next week with my 4 Pillars of Patient Focus.

Here’s the key to everything in your Practice…and winning!

Do not settle for going through the motions. Ever. Not you, not your team, not your patients.

To stick with the football analogy, you win games by going down the field; no progress is like “3 and out’s”, worthless, time consuming, wasteful, and obviously not productive; it kills energy, zaps morale and ruins momentum.
