Here’s where all the PROFIT is in Your Practice…

Let me get straight to the point: next week, I’m going to take you behind the scenes of the ‘real’ business side of dentistry.  The part that no one wants to talk about… the blatant truth that most patients don’t stay patients very long.  It’s a fact that most dentists lose as many patients as they get.

This is why you can have Doctors in practice for decades with still only one or two hygienists.  I have no problem with this by itself; my most successful and highest profit practices do not have an army of hygienists.

The problem for most is it has not been done on purpose.  Most accidentally lose patients as fast as they get them and that prevents you from ever actually creating a profitable relationship with them.

If you make your patients healthy by taking them to a state of ideal and graduate them out of your practice – that’s fine.  However, if you do not maintain relationships with your patients, you never get a chance to really cultivate the life-changing dentistry that you are most passionate about doing.

My doctors want to do comprehensive dentistry.  If you do, then it’s going to take more than one visit.  More than emergency repairs on new patients.

Let me ask you a simple question:  What is the purpose of the New Patient Experience and the first clinical engagement with your patients?

Not to get as much treatment as possible.

Not to turn them into money.

Not to max out their insurance benefits.

The point should be to establish trust, create a relationship and set expectations.  This is done by identifying what ‘healthy’ is to them, what it is to you and what their personalized plan should be to get to wherever those two things intersect to create a dental marriage between patient and doctor.

This is why I fight so hard against the “volume” approach to dentistry.

It’s not because I don’t want you to have a lot of patients.  If you are getting more than 20-30 per doctor, you are getting more than the average in the industry.  If you are 40-60 or more per one single doctor, you are living a life of excess luxury… and unless you are single-handedly producing over $2,000,000 with this flow, you are doing your patients a disservice and you are diminishing your profitability by focusing on volume capacity instead of value-based growth.

Never forget this: there doesn’t have to be PROFIT in PRODUCTION; you can spend all the money you make supporting the production it took to make it.

Unless you focus on the place where all the profit in dentistry is…

Patient Retention and Relationships

If you are tired of spinning your wheels and getting paid less than you deserve doing the same old mundane boring dentistry as you try to grind it out through another month, then end your frustration now because it’s about to get a whole lot easier and more fun.

If you are ready to move beyond income in your practice and move to a powerful position of creating wealth and increasing your practice value, then you will choose to master this part of your practice most are negligent with.

I can tell you this… starting every month over at zero is a desperate spot to be in.  You have no positioning and must revert to picking up the easy dentistry and the low hanging fruit.  Worse, it’s at the expense of all the rest of the treatment – the portion that leads to you reaching profitability faster, leveraging time more efficiently and above all else achieving consistency of your daily and monthly goals.

It’s actually much easier than you think to do this.  That is, when you have my Dental Practice Gold Mine structure for Patient Retention that will lead to profitable growth and comprehensive case acceptance – the two things every doctor wants more of.

Between now and then, if you want to play a game, check for yourself.  What is your average new patient ‘actually completed’ treatment value in their first 30-days (or even 12 months if you want to go that far)?  What are you cultivating now, on your own, BEFORE my training?  I will double it on the spot.  That means doubling the money you get from your new patient stream overnight; which immediately all goes straight to your bottom line.

Dig deeper, find out how many patients that were new in 2016 came back in 2017.  Identify the number of active patients in 2016 (not new), and see what percentage of those came back in 2017.

This is the first time I have ever disclosed my secrets to keeping patients in the practice and what I call ‘the flow of treatment’ in order to multiply your new patient value and create more profit, instantly, without adding time, team members, increasing overhead in any way and best of all without requiring you to get a single additional new patient.

Fix this first and you can get all you want – though you will ‘need’ a whole lot less – a nice place to be in.

Be the envy of every doctor in town because they will see your practice thrive like never before.  You’ll create a buzz and an energy that you have always wanted.  You’ll, above all else, turn your busyness into profit instead of just fighting for more production dollars and having to take all the low hanging fruit (i.e. insurance dentistry).

My first training of 2018 will be my most powerful and practice changing yet… no smart owner doctor who wants to get more profit out of their practice without any gimmicks or discount coupons or ppo’s or anything else would dare miss it.
