How To Run Up The Score Every Single Month

Your practice is in a box.  Inside of that box are you and your team.  That box is compromised of the sticking point of all practice growth and leverage.  Consider the four walls of your practice this box with a floor and a ceiling.  Your daily life, in reality, is lived through the schedule, which you know I call your schedule the bank account.

So there, I set the parameters of the game.  This box you live in is the way you operate, the systems you execute, the processes and protocols you follow and the team you work with.  These things all come together every day to fill up your schedule and determine your outcomes for the day, week, month and so on and so forth.

I call it a box because, as I told you last week, you have (whether consciously or not) agreed that, based on your actions, you were going to accept the results you get.

And therefore, you have built up a box around you and chosen to live within its boundaries.

Unless you are willing to look at things differently and step outside of the box to gain perspective over ways to create leverage and to breakthrough, then you are forever your own worst enemy and holding yourself back – maybe without even knowing it.

Now, your reality is lived out through the schedule that you have.  Your schedule is also a box with a floor and a ceiling a beginning and an end with borders all around it.  Your schedule has been built to create the status quo of whatever numbers you are achieving right now on a consistent and average basis.

This is where you get stuck.

Most doctors think that there is some magic fix to making more money by doing something different with the schedule, by getting more patients, by doing things to fill up the box with more more more and to cram the schedule tighter and more full.

And yes, there is opportunity to grow incrementally by adjusting schedule and increasing patients.  But, that means that you are still inside of your same existing box that has the same ceiling and same floor – the same capacity.

The only way to blow the top off and move from incremental to accelerated growth is to do more dentistry all at once – per patient – per appointment – per time interval.

And that requires you to have more dentistry to do.

The art of getting more big cases and more bundled chunks of high dollar dentistry is the only way to really create leverage for any doctor.  Whether you have multiple doctors in your practice, you have one associate or you are the one and only, either way your ability to grow your production will only occur without limitations if you are doing as much as possible in each mouth (when it is available and applicable to your own clinical philosophy).

So, if everything you are doing now is getting you what you are getting now…

Then it would be obvious to say that if we want more bigger cases and get to the truly life changing dentistry – you have got to get out of the box you are in and do, at least, some things differently.

You know the definition of insanity so I won’t repeat it here.
