Permission to Dream, Desire, Strive and Achieve…

There are many guiding principles that are at the core of why I am successful at helping and facilitating my doctors’ successes.  These are not common principles and not common successes, either.  Most of these achievements extend beyond anything they could have really imagined possible before and certainly beyond what any of their colleagues would believe.

Among these principles that are catalysts for the extraordinary, there is one that is the heartbeat of everything else, one that is the foundational principle that makes all of the others possible and one that must be accepted before all others.

I equip you with the authority, confidence, power and means to…

GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION

To WIN!

To Have it all.

To Practice Dentistry On Your Own Terms.

To Live Your Ideal Life GUILT FREE.

This is not possible without You allowing yourself to Dream, Desire, Strive and Achieve.  Instead, all of your life you have been told that becoming a Doctor is enough, that being your own boss should be sufficient and whatever you earn you should be satisfied.

And yes, you have even been told (and talked yourself into) the idea that “it’s not about the money.” That you should take all patients at the lowest fee possible, help as many people as you can and that because you became a doctor you are now at the mercy of everyone else around you.

You’ve been led to believe that it’s all suppose to be hard, that volume is the only way to win, that long hours are a necessity.  That you shouldn’t take vacations because who will see the patients, who will watch over the team and how will the team be paid.

In other words, you have been ingrained with the idea that you should put everyone before yourself.  In fact, you have done just that so often that you have forgotten what it’s even like to think about you – to put yourself first.

Maybe it’s time to ask yourself what you really want for your practice, your future, your clinical aspirations, your lifestyle and your financial independence.  It’s ok to think about how rich you want to be and it’s okay to not just want to be but to actually be rich.  Rich in time, in autonomy, in choices, in money, in health, in peace of mind, in anything at all.

No week goes by without one of my Doctors telling me a story about a CPA calling up all curious about where the recent spike in net income originated; or some doctor in a study club went on a rant because ‘you don’t work enough’ and therefore ‘you can’t possibly be making more money than me.’  Of course, they act out of envy and attempt to degrade someone who is helping more patients, doing more comprehensive dentistry and making more money.

When another doctor wants you to be less successful to make themselves feel better, don’t buy it.

Don’t buy into it. Don’t practice dentistry, run your business, manage your life by anyone else’s standards.  Because you deserve better than that.

When you first started out and you made the decision to become a Dentist, you had a vision of what that would look like, feel like, be like, earn like.  When you first started your practice, you had a vision of what that would look like, feel like, be like, earn like five, ten, twenty, thirty (for some forty) years later.

The simple question is: right now, how close are you to THAT original vision?  And what have you wanted to change about that vision?

It’s okay to want something and it’s okay to change what you want.  It’s your life and your practice.  That’s the point.

Doctors often ask me, “Why dentistry, Scott?”  They are mostly intrigued but also mystified because why would a ‘non-dentist’ find joy in dentistry.  Really what they want to know is why would I expose myself to such torture as insurance, corporate dentistry, team turnover, the oddity of the mind of some doctors, among many other things.

For me the answer is simple. It wasn’t deliberate at first. But then it was.  After dentistry found me, I was hooked.  I become infatuated with the possibilities that you have to help people while also controlling your own destiny.  Dentistry allows you to have the freedom to completely design your career, business, practice, life and future however you want it to be.

From my Mastery of Business, there is nothing more exciting to me than that.

And then I discovered the opportunity of all opportunities – to help Doctors just like you because of the unfortunate fact that most Doctors do little and more often do nothing to help themselves.

I believe in what you are capable of, the question is: do you?

Don’t get stuck inside the BOX that someone (the industry, your professors, your spouse, your team, your patients, your colleagues), has trapped you in.  The first thing I am here to do for you is to destroy the box.

Every Doctor has some type of box that restricts and limits their beliefs about what is possible. And no Doctor ever achieves, earns, accomplishes more than their beliefs will allow.

That is why today and everyday I give you permission to Dream, Desire, Strive and Achieve for yourself, your family, your team, and your patients – all on your own terms.

Over the next few weeks, I will take you outside of the box you are living and practicing in so you can free yourself from the barriers that are holding you back from your next breakthroughs and from truly having it all, in and out of dentistry.

My purpose, passion, obsession and commitment to you is to make certain you are living up to your own potential.  That begins today with you breaking down the walls and allowing yourself to open your mind and start asking yourself what do you want more, better, different for yourself.

I have given you the permission.  Will you accept it?
