The New Year Has Already Begun, Start Here…

It’s sure been a long time coming, hasn’t it?  Exactly 366 days ago (Leap Year gifted us an extra day of 2020), it all began with optimistic 20-20 vision for the New Year.  Then, well, rest assured we aren’t about to rehash all that has happened here.

The good news is, as I love to say, life is lived “in the future” – not the past.  So, set your sights forward, look out onto the horizon, and set your sails for all that is before you because that’s where you are going.

Still, you know this year will also be met with unpredictable events, every year is.  Some better or worse than others yet there are always constants that we can rely on.

In fact, it’s these constants that we focus on when it comes to your own personal practice success.  What do we know about dentistry going forward… the things that aren’t ever going to change.

It has to be done by a doctor.

It has to be done in a practice.

It has to be done on people.

It has to be done with a team.

It has to be done in time.

There are more constants than there are variables and that means you can, if you so choose, absolutely predict and even create exactly what you want.  You can control your outcomes, the achievement of your goals, and even your own personal income.

And, as if you needed another reason to be extra excited about the year ahead, this year’s goals, results, achievements, and pretty much anything else have nothing to do with what happened last year.  It is, after all, a NEW year.

Of course, for the complacent that is the opposite of good news.  It’s bad news because it also means that anything that you achieved last year is not guaranteed to repeat this year.

In fact, no past success automatically entitles you to a future success of any kind.  Like 2021, it’s a new challenge that the new year brings – you can replicate success but you can’t recycle it.

This requires great clarity, focus, discipline, and most of all determination whether it’s just to maintain or to improve as aspect of your life and practice.

If you want to know the most predictable way to achieve results it’s to have them based on and built around two things: the practice formula (I’ve been talking about it for weeks) and reliable systems that ensure execution.

By the way, in case you missed my Christmas Message, it was a good one.  I’m biased about these Weekly Reports because, aside from my Private Weekly Memos to my Top Doctors, these are my favorite to write.  I think they are all ‘good’ else I wouldn’t write them, but it was a memorable one.

Inside of it I gave you one final gift for the year.  It is my formulaic plan, structure, path to achieving exactly what you want in 2021 – without fail.  Of course, it’s customized for every doctor.

If you are searching for more consistency and stability in 2021 all while making more money, having less stress, and requiring fewer clinical days to achieve it, then you really must act now…  Request Your Customized Practice Success Blueprint >>>

Here’s where it gets really interesting though, the systems are only as good as the people who operate and execute them.  And while I promise to not hit you with the heavy stuff today – it is a Holiday after all – I am going to dedicate the next several weeks to a deep dive on specific ‘practice success systems’ that exist in every single practice regardless of what size, type, style, or location.  I’m going to walk you through how to better build, enhance, and refine each and every one of them as part of our New Year work together.

You know all of those Health Clubs always say “New Year, New You” and of course it’s not ever a “New You” it’s the same You, but with an opportunity to be a better You.

So, we are going to do a “New Year Same But Better Practice” for every system that drive results and gives you leverage so you are working smarter and not harder than ever before – especially this last year – and getting more rewarding results with less effort, stress, and frustration.

Sounds good doesn’t, it?  Great, then you’ll want to tune in right here every week as we chart the course through 2021.

Now, I want to make a very bold point – remember those constants – they actually are the most unpredictable part of dentistry.

Yes, you guessed it, the people and the time are the things that we tend to have the least amount of control over – including by the way yourself – but it’s by choice.  There are ways to drive more consistency in performance.  And the first success system we are going to go into next week will be your team.

Today, I want to focus on two things, first the big picture of your year ahead (hopefully you’ve already thought through this and you are way more than one day delinquent if you haven’t) and I want to focus on the details of how you are going to make it happen.

You can achieve this by answering two questions.

But first, allow me to make this obvious observation… the best part of any New Year is you get to keep the good stuff and toss the bad in order to make the New Year different in any way you desire.

Now 2021 has arrived.  It’s your turn, the calendar is laid out, it doesn’t change, all that changes is what we decide to put on the pages.

1st Question…

How would you describe the perfect year ahead for you, in as much detail as possible, from money to routine to family to everything in between?

Just start writing and see what happens.  Don’t stop until you are done; until you completely run out of thoughts, ideas, emotions, goals, dreams, and vision to put down.

Take a break, a breather, come back and read it – read it all – and then move on to the 2nd Question…

In reading about your future life and practice for 2021, what are all the things, decisions, actions, changes, priorities, people, adjustments that are necessary for what you wrote to become reality?

Don’t let it overwhelm or intimidate you.  This is deep work for those serious about life and success, so be excited about it, be proud of it, and be confident with it.

Then put some order to the list along with some rough timelines.  There, you did it.  You’ve just done more work to improve 2021 on the 1st day of the year than just about anyone else (aside from our Doctors here in our secret society) will do all year long.

Congratulations.  Now go live it, believe it, and bring it to life!

I know what you are capable of… do you?  Are you willing to do what it takes to reach the next pinnacle of your life where the greatest success is always found?

There’s still time to get my help crafting Your Customized Practice Success Blueprint for enhanced lifestyle and greater profit in 2021.

You will remember most in 2021 not what you did but who you became and the people and experiences you had along the way.  The clearer you get on the year ahead, the more you will be in control over what happens no matter what might be in the rear-view mirror at the end of the road 365 days ago.

Make it a Happy New Year.   Thank you for giving me the privilege to be a part of it.
