Your Next Daily Focus – Positivity

There is nothing that makes a person more desirable for others to want to be around than a positive attitude.  It’s true what they say, attitude is everything.

The thing is, it’s about ‘more’ than just your attitude; it is about being a positive person.

I’m not talking about radiating positive energy or being an outgoing person.  You get to be who you are and be the best you possible.

What I’m talking about is being genuinely, naturally, habitually, consistently (and in every way possible) POSITIVE – with others, with yourself, about life, about dentistry and about everything else.

People are attracted to this mindset because they are so use to the opposite.  From others, news, tv, society, traffic – you name it – everywhere is negative negative negative.  It’s amazing how complainers and whiners come in such a variety shape and types.

This is why walking into your practice should be upbeat with a positive vibe and an inspiring environment that is special.  It should be a place people want to be around.

The only way to make that happen and sustain it is for the PEOPLE (you, doctor and team) to be like that in the first place.

This Daily Focus of positivity and having a personal positive attitude is a great magnet and attractant for yeses, case acceptance, referrals and especially trust.

Now, this is an individual decision you have to make with yourself.  It ties directly to the “be present” Daily Focus we talked about last week.  Everyone has “their stuff” – the list, the drama, the life challenges, the inner voices, and on and on – BUT when you choose to be present and be where you are, the next step is to decide to BE POSITIVE (happy) about it.

When individuals choose to have a positive attitude it makes it a heck of a lot easier for the team to have a positive attitude as a whole.  Any one person can bring you down (especially if it’s the doctor) and this can’t be tolerated.

One of my very special Doctors, close personal friend and Elite Wealth Group Members just said to me, “To help me be accountable, I am creating an ‘attitude chart’ for myself.  Every day, start and finish, I’m going to grade myself and be aware of MY ATTITUDE!”

If only every Doctor would do that.  But why not also have the team as a whole (based each individual) grade themselves.

In every morning Huddle, decide to be POSITIVE today.

So, your next Daily Focus is POSITIVITY.

You want to first make the decision and commitment to have the right attitude.  You want to set each other up for success by reading positive quotes, successes stories, praying, telling a joke, whatever is your thing.  You want to have this as a daily discipline to ensure everyone begins each day with this affirmation of positivity.

Throughout the day you want to keep each other in check, heads up, attitudes on point with positive verbiage, actions and habits going strong.

You should also have a brainstorming discussion about how you can bring this positivity and maintain it (it is like a muscle that takes daily exercise) into your personal life.  It will make you better for everyone around you; especially better for yourself!

Make your list of ways to be more positive as an individual and as a team.  Then you watch, like magic, you’ll be rubbing off on your patients and your practice will be a very happy place with lots of yeses, treatment, referrals, positive reviews and prosperity.

There are many daily focuses we are going to cover.  Each will get built on the backs of these first two.  Without them nothing else you do or think will have as great an impact as what it could.  So, be positive and present by having the attitude it takes to be the BEST YOU possible.
