You\u2019ve heard the saying about what happens when you assume<\/i>. \u00a0You know what it makes out of \u201cU\u201d and \u201cMe.\u201d\u00a0 This is a funny notion and yet so true.<\/p>\n

A book I recommend to everyone I meet is The Four Agreements<\/i>.\u00a0 One of the agreements is to NOT make assumptions because it makes your vision cloudy and you miss out on so much because you have tricked your mind into what you are going to see\u2026what you expect to see.<\/p>\n

This is why \u2013 whether you believe it or not \u2013 when you expect patients to have problems paying, they do.\u00a0 When you expect that they are going to have \u2018sticker shock\u2019, they will.\u00a0 Pretty much whatever you expect and assume is what you are asking for more of.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s just ONE SIDE of assumption.\u00a0 There is of course another.\u00a0 Inside of it lies some of the most powerful and influential abilities that you can possibly imagine.<\/p>\n

When you have a culture, attitude, philosophy of the right type of assumption, it will change the game played inside of your practice forever.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s where we will be going next week.\u00a0 It\u2019s probably the most fun and exciting concept you can live out and see realized right before your eyes.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, CHECK YOURSELF and EACH OTHER as you commit to eliminating all of the BAD assumptions you are making about patients, about your practice and about each other.<\/p>\n

Make a list by going around the room as everyone participates in the sharing of the deep dark thoughts you have and let get in your way (and in your patients\u2019 way) of success.<\/p>\n

Oh, and listen to this, this works for your life too.\u00a0 More importantly than any patient or treatment, you ought to go to work on each other as you remove the self-sabotaging beliefs, preconceived ideas and faulty assumptions you are making every single day about yourself.<\/p>\n

You know that saying \u2018don\u2019t worry, be happy,\u2019 well when you get this right you won\u2019t worry and you will be happier because you\u2019ll be an all around better person to yourself and therefore everyone else around you.<\/p>\n

It comes from within, it always does.<\/p>\n

No more prejudging.<\/p>\n

No more poor expectations.<\/p>\n

No more negative assumptions.<\/p>\n
