\u00a0I loved the feedback and stories you shared with me in response to last week\u2019s Huddle.<\/p>\n<p>There is no greater privilege a person can have than to gift someone belief and hope in what\u2019s possible. \u00a0That\u2019s why you are there every day with your patients; to give them the gift of possibilities for their health, their mouths, their smiles, their confidence, their lives.<\/p>\n<p>That major point we\u2019ll go further into detail next week. \u00a0It\u2019s life changing for anyone who will truly embrace it and own it.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the real key is: HOW. \u00a0How do you bring the realm of \u201cdental possibilities\u201d into the minds and mouths of your patients?<\/p>\n<p>Of course, it begins by you making the decision that you are going to do more than just point out problems. \u00a0It also begins when you yourself believe in the VALUE of what you do and the IMPACT dentistry can have on a person.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is: it isn\u2019t really all that complicated (assuming you have your clinical philosophy, practice mission, and standard of care defined based on your doctor\u2019s beliefs).<\/p>\n<p>All you have to do is say to your patients\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, we have found that many of our patients, who have a situation very similar to yours, are not aware of some other possibilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And then you tell them.<\/p>\n<p>About the smile makeover.<\/p>\n<p>About the teeth whitening.<\/p>\n<p>About the straightening of teeth.<\/p>\n<p>About getting rid of the denture.<\/p>\n<p>About replacing the missing tooth.<\/p>\n<p>About getting out of pain once and for all.<\/p>\n<p>About saving teeth.<\/p>\n<p>About stopping the snoring.<\/p>\n<p>About WHATEVER.<\/p>\n<p>And when you say \u2018other people don\u2019t know\u2019 \u2013 it eliminates the embarrassment that they didn\u2019t know either. \u00a0Then you describe the solution.<\/p>\n<p>If you are very bashful or you have a patient you want to be more timid with, you can ask them, \u201cI bet you would be interested in knowing about what we can do to help you [solve this] [improve that] [replace these], wouldn\u2019t you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The goal here is to let them know there is more to this than meets the eye, that there are solutions for it and you\u2019d love to help them discover what they are. \u00a0There is no reason to make this more complicated than it is.<\/p>\n<p>Way too many team members (and especially doctors) think patients will be overwhelmed about hearing \u201ceverything\u201d all at once or they won\u2019t be interested or they will even be upset at knowing the truth.<\/p>\n<p>Let me assure you that this is only the case if you do not set them up properly first, if you do not communicate with transparency, or if you push everything as problems that they have to solve instead of approaching it as possibilities that would serve them well.<\/p>\n<p>Next week, I\u2019m going to help you give another gift to give every single patient. \u00a0This approach will work like magic even when we aren\u2019t in the midst of the Holidays.<\/p>\n<p>For now, please really take a hard assessment about where you are short changing patients, where you are too problem focused, and where you do not do enough to engage in possibilities.<\/p>\n<p>There is NO LACK of OPPORTUNITY to help Patients. \u00a0There is only a lack of initiative, time, energy, effort, communication and above all else willingness for you to elevate your patients\u2019 awareness, value and desire to want more for themselves, which begins by knowing what\u2019s possible in the first place.<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/dentalsuccesstoday.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/f2fd8f06571fe09827ace5fcb31ec1d2.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80\" src=\"https:\/\/dentalsuccesstoday.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/f2fd8f06571fe09827ace5fcb31ec1d2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dentalsuccesstoday.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/f2fd8f06571fe09827ace5fcb31ec1d2.png 576w, https:\/\/dentalsuccesstoday.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/f2fd8f06571fe09827ace5fcb31ec1d2-300x109.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/a>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, what is an idea without the tactical steps to make it come to life in your practice?
