As we begin to shift gears into a different type of Daily Focus, I\u2019m going to get the hardest one of them all \u2013 literally \u2013 out of the way right here, right now.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the Achilles heel of every human being \u2013 period.<\/p>\n

It is certainly the biggest challenge of the most successful practices and why so often teams are disenchanted with their doctor and doctors get distracted from their own goals.<\/p>\n

I could call this \u2018discipline\u2019 or \u2018stick-to-itiveness\u2019 or a variety of other words; instead I will give you the actual habit that is required to sustain and achieve success as a whole.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s Repetition.<\/p>\n

Otherwise known as RINSE AND REPEAT.<\/p>\n

The reason why this is so difficult is because of the obvious and first thing that comes to your mind right now even as you read this\u2026<\/p>\n

BORING<\/p>\n

B-O-R-I-N-G<\/p>\n

You betcha. \u00a0You are darn right \u2013 it\u2019s boring.<\/p>\n

That is of course unless you like winning. \u00a0You like making amazing things happen, day in and day out.<\/p>\n

Use any example you want. \u00a0You know I love my sports analogies.<\/p>\n

But think of a dental procedure.<\/p>\n

Think of insurance submissions (heaven forbid).<\/p>\n

Think of an activity your kids are doing.<\/p>\n

There is only one way to be good, let alone Excellent, at anything and that is this\u2026<\/p>\n

REPETITION<\/p>\n

Doing the same thing over and over and over and over again as long as you want the same result.<\/p>\n

You have heard the definition of insanity \u2013 doing the same thing expecting a different results \u2013 and yet we don\u2019t often think of the opposite of that.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s call being methodical, intentional, deliberate.<\/p>\n

Stringing all of those powerful P-Words together since the first week of this year and adding up every one of our Daily Focuses so far is worthless if they aren\u2019t repeated.<\/p>\n

You see, that is why repetition is the MASTERS LEVEL Daily Focus because it\u2019s the only way to make any of the others sustainable. \u00a0You don\u2019t do any-one-thing once \u2013 you do it again and again and again.<\/p>\n

The magic of this week\u2019s Daily Focus is not only the fact that repeating successful habits leads to more success, it is also the multiplying benefit of what repetition actually brings which is getting better and better at the things that matter most.<\/p>\n

So, this week, your activities should be to talk about three major objectives\u2026<\/p>\n

1st \u2013 What is happening in the practice as a team and as individuals that are tasks and responsibilities that could be dramatically improved if practiced and repeated more. \u00a0Take these and prioritize them into a training plan and figure out how to get it done and then keep right on doing them.<\/p>\n

2nd \u2013 Decide what success traits (possibly a review of the notes and revelations garnered from every morning huddle from this year so far), that should make up your daily success routine. \u00a0In other words, all of the things that you should repetitiously commit to ensuring happen every single day with every single patient. \u00a0This should be outlined and become the Daily Success Manifesto \u2013 if you do it right.<\/p>\n

3rd \u2013 Finally, for the overachievers, I want you to commit to monthly repetition of the key skills that each team member must master in your own respective roles. \u00a0It probably can be nailed down to one to three things that are the highest and best use of your time and the most effective leveraged actions that drive the greatest results.<\/p>\n

Then every month set aside role-playing, practice and repetition time just like any professional athlete would do. \u00a0As a professional, the only way you\u2019ll get better, stay on top of your game and reach mastery (which is a never ending continuous journey and challenge) is to practice, practice, practice.<\/p>\n
