I challenge you to do the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The big difference in effective goal setting is in focusing on the things that you can control. Most people put too many wants and wishes out there about \u201cother people\u201d changing and they base their lives and happiness on other people instead of focusing on it from within.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2028The question is: what\u2019s 2020 going to be about FOR YOU?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Better parent, spouse, friend, son or daughter, team member, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The question that really matters is HOW are you going to \u2018be better?\u2019 The First Lady came out with a campaign a couple years ago called \u201cBe Best\u201d \u2013 I don\u2019t believe this got enough coverage. This the worthiest thing as it puts the focus right where it should be\u2026 how YOU can be your best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2028Everything else falls into place when you take care of #1. Not in a selfish way, in a proactive, responsible, self-caring way that leads to you being able to do more for others by first doing more for yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I ask you what goals do you have?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What changes do you want to make?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In what ways will you be different, be best next year?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2028The bottom line is if you don\u2019t set some new expectations for yourself you are going to end up with just more of the same. Maybe that\u2019s good enough for you and maybe it is not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We can talk practice stuff all day long \u2013 and we will get back to that \u2013 but don\u2019t miss the bigger picture here. What you ought to be doing with your patients is helping them \u2018be their best\u2019 also. No one is going to say they don\u2019t want to be their best. All you have to do then is just show them how.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For today though, before the year is out, I\u2019m asking YOU what YOU want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We practice very deliberately the principle that if you want to grow the practice you have to grow the people inside the practice \u2013 that happens to be you. Here\u2019s what you can know about me, my team, your doctor: we aren\u2019t growing you so we can grow it; we are growing you because you deserve it, because it\u2019s what we believe in, because it\u2019s the right thing to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Us being our best is ensuring, helping, guiding, leading you on your journey to be your best. We are proud of that, we are proud of you, and we aren\u2019t going to let anything get in your way of finding your next personal discovery and bettering your best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, let\u2019s celebrate the old year, welcome in the new year, commit to being your best self, and then going to work on bettering your best in every way for 2020. Look out 2020, because here we come. I\u2019m very confident it\u2019s going to be the best year yet!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
