I love \u2018big\u2019 Practices when they are done right. I am a great advocate, strategist, and creator of Associate Based Dentistry. Yet, I don\u2019t care how many ops you have, you can be \u2018small\u2019 and be big and dumb in your operational methods or you can be \u2018big\u2019 and be small and strategic in your operational methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You know by now my approach is specific to the Doctors\u2019 visions and goals for themselves and their Practice. Big or small, it has to be on purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So when I pick a battle with \u201cbig\u201d practices let me tell you what I\u2019m talking about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dentists or organizations dependent on, and at the mercy of, insurance companies so much so that it compromises the patients\u2019 health. I\u2019m against people who make price their only competitive advantage instead of service, quality, real legitimate care over the people you serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div I can tell you this, my <a href=\"https:\/\/dentalsuccesstoday.com\/blog\/real-independence-for-the-independent-dentist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">independent Dentists<\/a> who would consider themselves \u2018small\u2019 are the <a href=\"https:\/\/dentalsuccesstoday.com\/blog\/more-profit-through-leverage-and-maximization\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most profitable<\/a>, the most well balanced and they out earn any multi-doctor \u2018large\u2019 practice operator that I know, at least two to one at their peak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sure they have to do more dentistry, but they are \u2018small\u2019 Associate Models that work beautifully, profitably and are just right for many types of independent dentists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s the thing, looking at hour for hour (worked, hands in the mouth) all that matters are three things: did you enjoy it \u2013 was it on your own terms \u2013 and how much money did you put in YOUR (not your practice\u2019s) bank account to further your own personal, family, and life ambitions; using your Practice as vehicle to drive you further along your own journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s my intention and I want to be blatant, transparent, direct and bold with you \u2013 I want to debunk all the stupid rumors, myths and brainwashing BS that has been spouted in every nook and cranny of our great industry since the bust in 2008, maybe even before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For nearly 10 years it has been all about how to smash the little guy or girl and conglomerate the people who have no passion or heart in dentistry to make it all about the money, all about volume, all about leveling the playing field, socializing, maybe even communizing Dentistry by letting Insurance Companies, Discount Dental Clinics, and other \u2018insider\u2019 groups take control and tell you what to do, who to do it with, and how much you can charge in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If I must shout at the top of my lungs \u201cOther Dentists like you are NOT the enemy it\u2019s all of these other people, organizations, and entities that are.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There have even been so called allies of the industry, Groups of Dentists themselves who have risen up like some Super Pac and promised great things and then turned their back on those who made it all possible in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You know what I\u2019m talking about\u2026DD\u2026ring a bell and by the way only in Dentistry would that trigger the thought of an insurance company and not something else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019mon. You just can\u2019t trust anybody.
