What makes you different?<\/p>\n

Have you ever really seriously asked yourself and your team that question?<\/p>\n

It is just too easy to say \u2018everything\u2019 or say \u2018our dentistry\u2019 but that is not different. Every practice on the earth says they do great dentistry.<\/p>\n

They all say this even when we know (and they know) that it is not true, not even a little bit.<\/p>\n

You can answer that question a dozen different ways, but the real test is how your patients would answer the same question. What do your patients say makes you unique and why they come into your practice?<\/p>\n

Would they say anything other than how nice you are?<\/p>\n

This really matters because your differentiation is all that you have in this business \u2026 What happens on the inside of the four walls of your practice? What happens on the inside of your patients\u2019 mouths? While it may be dramatically and substantially different in your clinical minds, if it is not different to your patients then it doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n

I call this the Patient Perspective.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what I say is your ultimate differentiation and your greatest asset of uniqueness: it\u2019s you and every one of your team members, it\u2019s the human element.<\/p>\n

The personal engagement that builds your reputations and relationships are the key.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the good news, bad news.<\/p>\n

The Good News is: you are in control of you, you are in control of your patient experience, you are in control of your relationships with your patients, you are even in control of their perspective and perception if you decide and choose to be.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the good news.<\/p>\n

The Bad News is: you are only going to be as successful, as good, as consistent, as dominating in your marketing place, as attractive to your ideal A-Patients as your practice business model is set up to allow and create.<\/p>\n

With most practices, it is not the people inside of it that is the problem, it is the business itself that is not set-up to win. There are no systems that drive the differentiation into the patients\u2019 minds and out into your communities.<\/p>\n

And as result, you have patients making decisions where they go based on price and insurance and who has the bigger brand and the brighter sign and the better location – instead of who provides the best experience, the most genuine care, the highest quality and relationship-driven dentistry.<\/p>\n

This is why corporate dentistry is winning. And it should not be. Not a chance. Because people, patients, especially yours they don\u2019t want that – who would?<\/p>\n

They want concierge, customized, individual, attentive, personal care with people who know their name, remember them and spend time with them. They want a practice that does not just say they care and say they provide quality, but shows it, lives it, and makes it experiential in delivery.<\/p>\n
