{"id":787,"date":"2017-02-24T15:18:02","date_gmt":"2017-02-24T15:18:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dentalsuccesstoday.com\/blog\/?p=787"},"modified":"2017-02-24T15:18:02","modified_gmt":"2017-02-24T15:18:02","slug":"the-wrong-way-to-market-for-new-patients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dentalsuccesstoday.com\/blog\/the-wrong-way-to-market-for-new-patients\/","title":{"rendered":"The Wrong Way To Market For New Patients!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You better believe that the majority of everything you read, watch, listen to, have been told, are bombarded with every single day about \u201cnew patients\u201d is completely and totally wrong.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, having experience in dozens of industries and just about every genre of healthcare, I can confidently say that: Dentistry has more \u2018flavor of the month,\u2019 bright shiny objects and charlatans selling you the \u2018magic pills\u2019 to solve your new patient problems \u201cforever more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whenever you hear that, you can be darn sure it\u2019s all a bunch of BS because there is no ONE thing you can do to market for patients.<\/p>\n<p>And besides, most marketing is nothing more than commoditizing yourself by reaching out to strangers who you force to be interested when they weren\u2019t already. This is the fastest way to fill up your practice with time-wasters, price-shoppers and otherwise unqualified patients.<\/p>\n<p>This is why I advocate strict, disciplined, consistent referral focused marketing initiatives (both inside your practice and outside your practice). Where you are attracting specific types of people by way of going through patients or centers of influence that you have already won over.<\/p>\n<p>That said, there are also other things you must do to make your referral marketing even more effective \u2026 you have to protect your brand, manage your reputation and have a viable visible organized online platform that controls what others find, see, say, read, learn about you.
