{"id":917,"date":"2017-07-24T17:33:48","date_gmt":"2017-07-24T17:33:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dentalsuccesstoday.com\/blog\/?p=917"},"modified":"2017-07-24T17:33:48","modified_gmt":"2017-07-24T17:33:48","slug":"smart-teams-part-3-of-4-mastering-preparation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dentalsuccesstoday.com\/blog\/smart-teams-part-3-of-4-mastering-preparation\/","title":{"rendered":"Smart Teams [Part 3 of 4] &#8211; Mastering Preparation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When it comes to sustainable peak performance at levels that many would say aren\u2019t possible or realistic (and the elite prove them wrong every single day in their practices), it boils down to one thing \u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2026while a lot has to go right to make a year a success, even a quarter a success, a good profitable high level month can be made with just a few victories.\u00a0 That\u2019s why I say the \u2018one thing\u2019 that makes all the others possible and ensures every day builds towards a productive month without exception is\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Preparation.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it\u2019s true, you can be 100% certain that you will hit your daily benchmarks to fulfill your goals every single day.<\/p>\n<p>It can be done \u2013 it is being done (by the best) \u2013 but it takes a team not just an individual to pull it off.\u00a0 Actually, it can be done with just one individual being successful and that\u2019s the power of it.\u00a0 Not every day will be a victory for everyone but for at least someone.\u00a0 That\u2019s true as long as everyone gives it their best effort and prepares properly.<\/p>\n<p>So how do you and your team become masters of preparation?<\/p>\n<p>Three Steps:<\/p>\n<p>1. Know your patient in advance<\/p>\n<p>2. Assess pending treatment, existing diagnosis and known opportunities<\/p>\n<p>3. Strategize for patient flow, conversation, timing, doctor engagement and treatment coordinator<\/p>\n<p>Now, when each clinical team member does this properly they will begin their day with a number \u2013 a value based dollar figure \u2013 of treatment that is guaranteed to be available because it is already known.\u00a0 Then they will have at least that number (if not a much greater number), at the end of the day that they have educated, discussed, reintroduced and presented to their patients.<\/p>\n<p>It does have to go further than just reviewing charts.\u00a0 You have to walk through and think through the day.\u00a0 In the past, I taught you the concept of visualization and pre-planning; this is the application of how that happens.<\/p>\n<p>Please understand this is the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> part of the Smart Teams series, I have given you the follow-up to the combination of knowing and using your numbers.<\/p>\n<p>This is the next and most important step.<\/p>\n<p>Preparation is what must be done daily if you want to be a real winner.\u00a0 You simply should accept nothing less from each other.<\/p>\n<p>Fast food workers (though nothing wrong with it), don\u2019t have to prepare.<\/p>\n<p>Gas Station attendants (though nothing wrong with it), don\u2019t have to prepare. <br clear=\"none\" \/>Tollbooth cashiers (though nothing wrong with that), don\u2019t have to prepare.<\/p>\n<p>But you\u2026\u00a0 Yep, it\u2019s different.\u00a0 In your chosen field of a healthcare professional in the glorious industry of dentistry \u2013 you have to prepare.<\/p>\n<p>If your doctor doesn\u2019t, shame on them.\u00a0 If you resist, find a less worthy line of work.\u00a0 You can\u2019t hit your goals on purpose without this and you let patients don\u2019t.\u00a0 Your patients deserve your best and your best means being prepared.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to add the more advanced components (that\u2019s for not just the champions but the world champions)<\/p>\n<p>1. Review photos<\/p>\n<p>2. Discuss the last clinical experience<\/p>\n<p>3.
