Last week, we hosted our Conference of Champions and in the very beginning I gave everyone ten specific things to do that would ensure that they keep winning\u2026 continue to improve and up their game.<\/p>\n
These ten things are powerful business growth principles that most never even think about let alone do.<\/p>\n
Out of all ten though, there was one that is the real secret to success and requires the most discipline of all.\u00a0 If you want to grow your practice or even sustain the growth that you have \u2013 you have to follow this principle\u2026<\/p>\n
Do More Of What Works<\/p>\n
Yes, it really is that simple.\u00a0 You know I love my sports analogies so here\u2019s another one\u2026 if you are an athlete or coach that wants to keep winning, the last thing you would ever think of doing is changing the way you play from what worked last time.<\/p>\n
Instead, you would stick to what works.\u00a0 You would refine and improve but you wouldn\u2019t modify your strategy, technique, approach or anything else.<\/p>\n
In sports, they talk about \u201cwinning formulas\u201d for a reason.\u00a0 Most teams know how to win, it\u2019s the execution that\u2019s difficult.\u00a0 The entire off season is spent, not on coming up with brand new approaches, but getting better at the strategy that wins already.<\/p>\n
Doing more of what works is the hardest thing to do because it can be boring and mundane. \u00a0Worse yet, there are forces all around you trying to distract you or persuade you that there is a better way.<\/p>\n
I have seen more successful people run off course and go backwards from some level of success they once have achieved because of this very thing.<\/p>\n
In your practice, you must stick to the principles that get you results and then you have to rely on the ultimate characteristic of the best of the best and that is\u2026<\/p>\n
Consistency.\u00a0 Consistency is what makes good people great.<\/p>\n
Consistently do amazing phone calls.<\/p>\n
Consistently take pictures.<\/p>\n
Consistently greet patients.<\/p>\n
Consistently nail your handoffs.<\/p>\n
Consistently focus on health not money or insurance.<\/p>\n
Consistently bundle treatment.<\/p>\n
Consistently schedule for goals.<\/p>\n
Consistently hold huddles and team meetings.<\/p>\n
Consistently review your numbers.<\/p>\n
I could write a very long list about this \u2013 however these are big picture items that you must do consistently.\u00a0 If you want to really master them, then you have to do dozens of other small tiny details and nuances consistently.<\/p>\n
Chart notes.<\/p>\n
Treatment follow-up.<\/p>\n
Referrals.<\/p>\n
Using the patients name.<\/p>\n
Getting paid up front.<\/p>\n
There is no more powerful success trait than that of consistency.\u00a0 I often use the saying \u201cchampions don\u2019t need to be told they just need to be reminded\u201d because that is actually the case.\u00a0 You, me, your team, we all need reminded from time to time and refocused on the most pivotal actions that led to results before.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m certain you can instantly think of a list of things you use to do or you think are being done or you know sometimes happen that are all things if they were executed more consistently (without shortcuts), would lead to you having more consistent results.<\/p>\n
