The Paradigm Shift That Ends All Frustration

We are picking up right where we left off last week.  The biggest problem across the board in business is being reactive and waiting to deal with problems, objections, challenges, or anything else instead of getting out ahead of it and being proactive in decisions, behaviors, and perhaps especially with communication.

It’s not a coincidence that the title of my new book is about achieving Dental Success TODAY – it doesn’t say ‘yesterday’ because that’s not possible nor does it say ‘tomorrow’ because that hasn’t happened yet.

It’s about TODAY.  This is what the most successful Practices do.  They standout above all others by going to work to maximize every single patient opportunity TODAY and they are proactively working to build control over what is possible by thinking ahead.

This removes trial and error, it eliminates mistakes, it rises above accidental success (or failure) and moves you to a purposeful approach to operating your practice.

If you haven’t already picked up your very own copy of my newest book, you owe it to yourself to do that right now.  Because inside of it you will discover a behind the scenes look at just how easy it can be to achieve balance without compromise, profit without volume, and fulfillment without guilt.

Far too many Doctors come to me AFTER they are frustrated, burnt out, and nearly to a point of hopelessness.  There is an easier way to achieve results and rewards without having to sacrifice your health, time, peace of mind, and especially your clinical principles.

To put it clearly and bluntly: if you want to be in charge of your own success, you have to choose to be in control of what happens, to decide to take pro-action instead of staying at the mercy of everyone around you and the variables that you succumb yourself to.

Even the best Doctors end up going through the motions day by day and month by month settling for at best incremental growth often oblivious to what their real income even is and therefore subject to random outcomes instead of deliberately achieving their goals.

Here are some simple and yet specific examples that are all review for those who study seriously about creating effective patient experiences…

Phone calls should be positive and uplifting, inquisitive in nature, and give patients hope for what they will experience, learn, discover, achieve during their visit.

All of the things a patient experiences before coming into the Practice physically is all about proactively differentiating yourself as NOT just another dentist or dental practice.  You are getting out ahead of their preconceived ideas and/or past experiences to reshape their expectations.

When patients come in, everything that happens (what is said, what they see, every step before they sit in the chair and open their mouth), should be about getting them ready to be open to comprehensive diagnosis and begin to help to build their desire for optimal health based on your philosophy.

I could go on and on with every team member… For our Assistants to talk about future treatment before they even begin the treatment of today.  For our hygienists to have proactively reviewed charts so they have things of relevance to say to patients when they sit down both conversational and clinical.

The simple action of having a patient prepared for when the doctor comes in is about being proactive to both save time but also to make the Doctor’s positioning and authority greater in order to drive towards the clinical yes in a timely manner.

When presenting treatment we always go with the big picture and complete outcome of health instead of one-sy two-sy teeth or area at a time because you want to be proactive with the paradigm that it is all important and we are looking at the patient holistically.

Even if we are dealing with insurance there are several powerful powerful strategies (too advanced for today’s Report, but you’ll find them when you request my new book) that prevent the patients’ reliance on or even concern over insurance in their decision making.

Here’s the deal… my very favorite saying about problems is that the first way to solve a problem is to prevent it from happening in the first place.  That, by definition, is what this principle of success – Being Proactive – is all about.

While we can talk about the insides of your practice and your team members all day long, the real question is what do you need to be more proactive with yourself.  It might be actually leading and directing your team to be at a higher level of awareness over your expectations.  It could be more comprehensive and complete diagnosis.  Possibly you do not reassess your goals or check ‘real’ numbers to see how you are doing.  Probably it’s a little bit of all of these and others that you know about yourself.

I always say the best secret to success for my Doctors is to ‘be a good patient’ and that means when you say you want your patient to do something today for their long-term health and to avoid other problems of the future – you want them to comply because you know best.  You can see the future of your patients mouths and that’s why you give them the guidance you do today.

Well guess what, I know best about your business, about the business of dentistry.  And like you (once I understand your goals and see your present reality), I know exactly what to do TODAY to create the future that you want to see.

That’s exactly why I put together my philosophy that brings together all of the principles you’ll discover in my new book.  It will deliver Dental Success TODAY and lead to a more prosperous future with autonomy, independence, liberation, and control in and outside of your practice.

At the end of the day, there are only two ways to run your business and live your life…

Decide to go through the motions without any real plan or direction and then accept the results that being reactive gives you.

Or…

Decide on what you want to achieve and then reverse engineer a plan beginning with the end in mind executed with the proactive actions that are necessary to bring to fruition your goals and desired reality.

With either option it’s a choice and a decision but with only the second do you have control over the outcome.  That’s the type of person, business owner and Doctor that I believe you are and exactly who I wrote my newest book for.

It is all about achieving Dental Success TODAY on your own terms so you can have everything you want for your Future.
