Last week, I heard a great phrase and I’m certain it’s not the first time but it struck me as powerful and fitting – not just for right now, not just for the past year – but for every single moment of life.
It will serve a positive “reminder” for any Champion. That is…
ALL CHALLENGE IS TEMPORARY
Of course, ‘temporary’ can mean many things and have many varying timelines, no doubt. Still, the reality is every difficult, trying, painful circumstance is going to be temporary in some degree or another.
You will get through it… and you’ll get through it even faster if you focus on the through and not the it.
Whether the test comes in the form of the practice or virus or life or even tragedy, while there could be implications that last forever, the immediate challenge will always fade.
Live with confidence and certainty knowing that you can make it through whatever you are facing right now.
Believe in yourself. Believe in the outcomes you want. Believe in the improvements and growth that come from the challenge.
So far this year, I’ve given you many tips and reminders about success traits, habits, and strategies to consistently perform and execute at a high level – use them. You will find any and every challenge you face far more fleeting when you are well equipped to handle it.
Let’s try it right now… pick something in your life that you consider to be a challenge, big or small, and ponder it in your mind.
Now instead of looking at it – stop – look through it. Realize the temporary nature of it and think resourcefully how you might overcome it faster.
What would you consider the ideal outcome? What would need to happen in order for you to realize this result?
Visualize this, script your way through, prepare accordingly, and go.
You can do the same for the practice right now individually and then do it as a team. Pick something that someone or several of you feel is a limitation (whether belief or reality), that is holding you back from the next breakthrough. Now, go through it and overcome! This is how you will become more capable of tackling even bigger challenges tomorrow.
Without the challenge, there is no change. So, find peace of mind and reassurance in knowing that you’ve got challenges ahead of you but that’s the only way growth occurs.
In fact, go looking for them, find them, but focus on what you want, the outcome you desire. Focus on getting through these temporary trials in life and welcome the opportunity to come out of them stronger, smarter, and more confident.
Above all else, remember this: you are bigger than any challenge you face. While it is temporary, your resolve is not. Go forth and conquer.
